thyssenkrupp Towerrun 2019

Test tower to host German Tower-Running Championships for the first time

Following last year's highly successful inaugural event, on 15 September the thyssenkrupp test tower in Rottweil hosted the 2019 Towerrun. This year's event was combined with the German Tower-Running Championships for the first time, and hold in collaboration with events agency pulsschalg. With top athletes already registered to take part in large numbers, an exciting battle for Germany's tower-running crown was up for graps. Defending champion and current overall World Cup leader Christian Riedl started as the top favorite in the category of the elite runners, while in the women's race, last year's winner and local hero Martina Nagel was pulling out all the stops to repeat her victory and prevail over the assembled elite of the tower-running world. While it is a great honor to have been chosen as the venue for the German Championships, the thyssenkrupp Towerrun is still very much intended as a fun event for amateur enthusiasts, ambitious athletes and professional stair-runners alike. The 1,390 steps up to Germany's highest viewing platform make the test tower a special venue even for experienced stair-runners, providing an endurance test and an unforgettable experience for every beginner.
